ARMS RFID ARMORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The fastest, most accurate method for tracking weapons, gear, and containers in high-frequency issue-and-return armory environments. Real-time location. Zero gaps in accountability.

How RFID Weapon Tracking Works

RFID tags embedded in weapon grips communicate with reader zones at doorways and issue windows. This creats an automatic, hands-free accountability trail.

Tag Weapons & Gear with RFID

RFID tags are placed within weapon grips using cyanoacrylate adhesive — discrete, tamper-evident, and durable. Containers, holsters, and gear are tagged at the item or container level. Each tag carries a unique identifier linked to the weapon’s full profile in the ARMS database.

Authenticate Personnel at the Window

Officers present their credentials – ID card, biometric scan, or PIN at the armory issue window. The armorer’s screen instantly displays the officer’s photo, their assigned weapons, post requirements, and current certification status. Red highlights flag any expired certifications or Do-Not-Arm designations.

Detect Transfer at Issue/Return Zones.

RFID reader antennas installed at doorways and issue-return windows automatically detect every weapon and piece of gear that passes through. The system captures what was moved, by whom, and exactly when — no manual scanning required.

Validate Custody & Update Database

Personnel confirm custody via electronic signature pad or touch-screen PIN input. The ARMS database updates in real-time with new location data. A permanent chain-of-custody event record is written to the history of every weapon and piece of gear transferred.

Doorway & Issue-Window Detection Zones

Strategically placed RFID reader zones provide automatic, passive detection of all weapon movements, supporting accountability without slowing operations.

Green: Cleared for Issuance

Weapons with valid certifications for the assigned officer are highlighted green on the display screen, confirming the item is approved for issue.

Red: Certification Expired or Do-Not-Arm

Any weapon where the officer’s certification has lapsed, or the officer is flagged Do-Not-Arm, is highlighted red, blocking unauthorized issuance before it occurs.

Photo Identification on Screen

Photos of items assigned to personnel and required for the post assignment display on flat or touch-screen monitors, giving armorers a visual confirmation of exactly what should be in each officer’s custody.

Integrated Alarms & Security

Flashing lights, audible alarms, and connected video systems activate automatically if an unauthorized weapon removal is detected – creating a complete physical security deterrent layer.

Inventory Weapons after Issues and Returns

ARMS Armory management System seamlessly integrates with mobile RFID scanners featuring an intuitive smartphone interface. This allows personnel to rapidly scan weapons, gear, ammunition, and secure containers directly within the armory or storeroom.

  • Extended Range: Capture data from distances up to 20 feet to quickly validate the locations of all assets after every shift turnover.
  • Ad-Hoc Auditing: Fully and easily inventory armories, storerooms, depots, and warehouses on demand.
  • 100% Accountability: Instantly confirm the real-time location, status, and accountability of every item in your facility.

RFID vs. Barcode - Choosing the Right Method

ARMS supports both RFID and barcode tracking. The right choice depends on your issue frequency, item type, and operational environment.

IDEAL FOR LONG-TERM OR LOW-FREQUENCY ISSUANCES

Barcode Tracking

Cost-effective solution for gear, ammo, and stable inventories

  • Best suited for armories with long-term weapon assignments or infrequent returns
  • Ideal for gear and ammo where tag size, positioning, or cost favors barcode over RFID
  • Lower per-unit cost and economical for large inventories of small items
  • Fully integrated with the same ARMS database and chain-of-custody workflow
  • Requires manual scan at point of issue. It does not support passive doorway detection

RECOMMENDED FOR HIGH-FREQUENCY OPERATIONS

RFID Tracking

Hands-free, automatic detection at issue and return windows

  • Ideal for weapons and gear issued and returned on a frequent, daily basis
  • Automatic detection, no manual scan required by armorer or officer
  • Tags embedded in weapon grips with which can be discrete and permanent
  • Supports doorway detection zones for passive monitoring of all movements
  • Higher per-unit tag cost compared to barcode labels
